TOUR ITINERARY:
Day 1.Fly from home to Istanbul.
Day 2. Arrive Istanbul and Take the connection flight to Izmir Airport – Smyrna
Your tour guide will meet you after the customs and baggage claim with a “GROUP NAME” sign. Meet and transfer to the hotel. After check-in to the hotel, sightseeing in Smyrna (modern Izmir). Visit Smyrna Agora and the Archaeological Museum in Fuar area. Dinner and overnight in Izmir. (D)
Day 3.Pergamon – Sardis – Izmir
Leave for Pergamon. Visit the Acropolis with the steepest theater of the ancient world and the Temple of Trajan. Then drive to Sardis to see the 3rd century Synagogue, the Gymnasium and the Temple of Diana. Continue to Izmir, Turkey’s third largest city. Dinner and overnight in Izmir. (B,D)
Day 4.Ephesus – Kusadasi
In the New Testament, Ephesus (Rev. 2:1-7) is mentioned more often than any of the other Seven Churches. We will spend the morning walking its marble streets, visit the magnificent Terrace Houses, view the theatre where the riot of Acts 19 took place, and the Double Church where the Council of AD 431 took place; after lunch we will visit the Temple of Diana or Artemis – one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world, St. John’s Church, and the Selçuk Archaeological Museum. These sites will give us a deeper historical, Biblical and prophetic importance of Ephesus. Dinner and overnight in Kusadasi. (B,D)
Day 4.Miletus – Aphrodisias – Hierapolis – Pamukkale
Drive south to visit Miletus (Acts 20:15-17, Tim. 4:20). See the Theater where Paul spoke to Ephesian elders. Visit the new Miletus Museum. Drive to Geyre to visit the archaeological site of Aphrodisias. In the afternoon, visit Hierapolis mentioned in Col. 4:13. Philip the apostle ministered and was martyred here. A large theatre, Temple of Apollo and the largest and best preserved necropolis (cemetery) in all of Turkey. Tonight we will enjoy the hot mineral baths at our hotel. Dinner and overnight in Pamukkale. (B,D).
Day 5.Laodicea – Perga – Antalya
In the morning we will visit Laodicea, and its newly excavated early churches. Continue to Antalya finishing the day with a tour of ancient Attalia and its harbor where Paul and Barnabas departed at the end of their first missionary journey (Acts 14:25–26). In the afternoon we will visit Perga which Paul and Barnabas visited on their first missionary journey (Acts 13:13; 14:25). Overnight Antalya. (B,D)
Day 6.Antalya – Konya – Cappadocia
Drive to Konya, biblical Iconium, where we will have short stop. Paul visited Iconium on his three missionary journeys. Visit the newly restored Helena Church from 4th century. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia. (B,D)
Day 7.Cappadocia Tour
Visit to the Goreme Open Air Museum and see the famous painted
rock churches. Then visit Underground City, and the Citadel of Uchisar. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia. (B,D)
Day 8.Cappadocia – Fly Istanbul
Optional Hot Air Balloon Trip in early morning (06:00-08:00). Visit
Avanos Pottery making village, Onyx Factory, the monastic Zelve
Valley. After late lunch at local restaurant, transfer to Kayseri Airport for TK 2015 17:20/18:50 flight to Istanbul. Meet and transfer to hotel for check-in. (B,D)
Day 9.Istanbul
Full day Istanbul tour; drive to Old city to visit the Roman Hippodrome Square, Blue Mosque with its beautiful blue tiles, St. Sophia Church, built by Constantine the Great and reconstructed by Justinian in the 6th century, one of the worlds greatest architectural marvels and a designated World Heritage site. Then visit the Istanbul Archaeology Museum. Return to the hotel for dinner & overnight. (B,D)
Day 10.Istanbul
Visit Chora Church and the Orthodox Patriarchate in the morning.
Then, take a relaxing private Boat Tour along the Bosphorus seeing European and Asian shores of Istanbul. Afternoon walk at the vivid Beyoglu streets. Tonight, we will have a Farewell dinner at a local Seafood Restaurant in Kumkapi district. (B,D)
Day 11.Istanbul – Departure
Transfer to Istanbul Airport for flight to HOME . End of our services.
